"Is RealPlayer 8 or previous versions compatible with Macintosh OS X?
Each version of RealPlayer is tested with the versions of the Macintosh Operating System that are available when RealPlayer is released.
RealPlayer 8 is compatible with, and supported under Macintosh Operating Systems 8.1 - 9.1.
The final version of Macintosh OS X was not available for testing when RealPlayer 8 was released. While you may be able to use RealPlayer 8 with Mac OS X in the Classic Environment, RealNetworks has not tested for compatibility with this environment. We are unable to guarantee compatibility or provide support for RealPlayer 8 under Mac OS X."
