PowerLogix and Other World Computing (OWC) today announced they have begun shipping new colors of the acrylic PowerCube enclosures for Power Macintosh G4 “Cube” computer models. The new enclosures are immediately available for $139.00 through OWC, the exclusive distributor of PowerLogix products.
In addition to the original clear model, the acrylic PowerCube enclosure is now updated and available in white (to match Apple's use of the white iPod mouse and keyboard) and glossy black.
“The acrylic PowerCube offers several improvements over the original Cube enclosure,” said Larry O’Connor, president of OWC. “Cube owners can now experience significantly enhanced CPU and graphics performance without the risk of additional heat, which is a common problem when upgrading original Cubes.”
Available now.
PowerLogix continues to lead innovation in the Mac CPU upgrade market with the announcement of two new CPU cards for PowerMac G4s.
The first CPU card is an all-new design, called the PowerForce G4 '47. It features the latest high speed G4 PowerPC CPU, the 7447A. This card reaches new highs with clock speeds of up to 1.7 GHz, and it also offers several features not offered by any competing product.
The second CPU card is a refinement of the original PowerForce G4 from 2002. Called the PowerForce G4 ‘57, it uses the latest version of the PowerPC 7457. The 7457 offers a slightly slower clock speed than the 7447A, but it includes 2Mb of L3 cache per CPU.
Highlights:
Independent Power Supply Circuit
VRM Bypass Circuitry for use with G4 Cube
The PowerForce G4 ‘47 is the same form factor as Apple’s original single CPU card. This means it will work in every 100 or 133 MHz Bus PowerMac, making it a universal circuit design. This is the only Single/Dual CPU card on the market that can make this claim.
The PowerForce G4 47 features Automatic Clock Speed Selection on 100 MHz or 133 MHz bus. The PowerForce G4 '57 supports all 100 MHz bus PowerMacs: the PowerMac G4 AGP, Gigabit Ethernet, and Cube.

Shipping ETA - about 7 days
