kernel panic sur ibook G3

Alors voilà, je reviens vers vous concernant le kernel panic sur l'ordi de mon père.
Pour rappel le phénomème est apparu en passant de jaguar à panther.

En plus, suite au passage à la version 10.3.9 Firefox est dans le finder mais ne s'ouvre plus et indique un point d'interrogation.
Une première réinstallation n'a pas tenu est a disparu après rallumage. Depuis impossible de le remettre...
Vos conseils seront les bienvenus.

Pour les KP, mieux vaut nous donner le contenu du fichier panic.log. Là, c'est sans doute system.log et cela n'indique pas grand-chose que je sache exploiter.

Désolé mais il n'y a pas de fichiers panic.log dans la console... Où puis je le trouver sur Panther?
Sinon, Firefox reste en place désormais. Des explications sur les disparitions passées?

Rien de bien probant : on ne remonte pas à un module qui planterait le système.

Je verrais bien un problème matériel : de la RAM défectueuse ou un secteur du disque dur devenu illisible. Il faudrait faire un test de la RAM avec le disque de test matériel. Mac OS X est particulièrement sensible à la qualité de la RAM.
