Fix iTunes upgrade after OS 10.2.3 upgrade
12/23/02 02:38 AM
Hello everyone,
This is not applicable on all versions (probably just some languages):
Not sure this is been covered before, but there's a fix to remove that stubborn iTunes update in the Software Update that appeared after installing the OS 10.2.3 update.
Quit iTunes.
Open your BBEdit software and do this:
Open the file: /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/YOURLANGUAGE.lproj/InfoPlist.strings
YOURLANGUAGE.lproj could be sv.lproj if you're Swedish, Dutch.lproj if you're dutch etc. English.lproj is not affected, so if you use an english speaking version you don't need this (which you probably notice if your Software Update doesn't nag you about to update iTunes to 3.0.1 all the time, even if it's already the correct version).
Find the following line:
CFBundleShortVersionString = "3.0b4"
Replace 3.0b4 to 3.0.1 and save the file and the Software Update will stop bugging you about the update.
NOTE: Be careful with this, a small typo could force you to reinstall iTunes completly. So make a copy of the file as a backup before you do the changes.
PS: You can see the Content of the package by holding down the Ctrl-key when you click on the iTunes icon.
/Petra
Donc il semble que ce bug ne concerne que les versions non-US de iTunes à cause d'un numéro de version non corrigé dans le fichier InfoPlist.strings (CFBundleShortVersionString = "3.0b4")
